International Foundation Programme for Social Sciences and Humanities, Pre-Bachelor
- International Foundation Programme for Social Sciences and Humanities, Pre-Bachelor
- Duration :
The overall aim of the International Foundation Programme for Social Sciences and Humanities is to provide a bridge between high school and university and to equip students with a robust intellectual and linguistic foundation appropriate for the demands of an undergraduate degree programme.
Career options for arts and humanities graduates: jobs you can do with a degree in arts and culture, languages, English, Irish, classics, philosophy, theology, performing arts etc.
If you are graduating with a degree in arts or humanities, it's likely that you chose your subject for its own sake rather than as a means to an end or with a view to going into a particular career.
Apart from teaching, there are very few career areas directly related to humanities graduates who wish to use their subject. That does not mean, though, that your career is not relevant to your job search.
Students on the International Foundation Programme for Social Sciences and Humanities study six modules. The first semester focuses on guided reading and writing for university studies. In the second semester there is a stronger focus on independent learning and supported preparation for a range of written assessments and presentations. Students will choose academic subjects related to their future degree intention.
Programme Structure The programme comprises six modules: Social Sciences & Humanities: Academic Skills Language and Criticality in Social Sciences & Humanities Social Sciences & Humanities: Academic Core Social Sciences & Humanities: Integrated Skills Communicating in Social Sciences & Humanities Social Sciences & Humanities: Academic Electives
