If you re creative and imaginative, a degree in art could be just what you re looking for to express yourself. Art may not be a vocational subject that is, one that leads to a specific career but this does not mean it won t be a good preparation for the world of work. Whether you choose to specialize in fine art or the history of art, the skills you gain during your degree are likely to be highly valued and transferable to many sectors, including specialized art careers as well as many general graduate roles. Study a Bachelor of Writing at UC and you will:have the opportunity to experiment with different forms of professional and creative writing for a variety of audiences develop fluency and skills across a number of genres, including creative narrative, non-fiction, prose, poetry, writing for young people and writing for the screendevelop theoretical knowledge and practice in a cumulative and integrated fashionlearn to produce high-level creative and professional works that you are able to critique and contextualisedevelop a sophisticated understanding of the nuances of communication in contemporary societywork individually and collaboratively on projects to develop skills and competencies with a keen eye toward professional employment.

Programme Structure The course also involves a sequence of literary studies units, focusing on ways of approaching and reading texts and on developing a sophisticated understanding of the role of writing in contemporary society.In this way, theoretical and conceptual knowledge and practice are brought together in a cumulative and integrated fashion. As students learn to make high-level creative and professional works, they are also taught to critique and contextualise their own practice.
