Appalachian was founded in 1899. The pioneering spirit necessary to overcome the mountains hardships quickly characterized the institution, giving Appalachian a special niche in higher education that continues today. After more than a century, students still feel the pull of this unique place to transform their lives, and Appalachian has remained focused on providing students with educational experiences that are not only life-changing but world-changing.
Career Opportunities
Career options for arts and humanities graduates: jobs you can do with a degree in arts and culture, languages, English, Irish, classics, philosophy, theology, performing arts etc.
If you are graduating with a degree in arts or humanities, it's likely that you chose your subject for its own sake rather than as a means to an end or with a view to going into a particular career.
Apart from teaching, there are very few career areas directly related to humanities graduates who wish to use their subject. That does not mean, though, that your career is not relevant to your job search.
Course Overview
The graphic communications industries are a vibrant and growing sector of the economy, and in North Carolina alone, print-related media activities employ more than 22,000 people in 1,400 establishments. This includes packaging design and production, print production of all kinds and cross-media digital marketing. Appalachian State University's Thomas W.
