Having completed an accounting or finance related degree you would provide services relating to financial reporting, taxation, auditing, insolvency, accounting information systems, budgeting, cost management, planning and decision-making by organisations and individuals; and provide advice on associated compliance and performance requirements to ensure statutory and strategic governance. You can work as an Accountant (General),Management or Cost Accountant,Taxation Accountant, Agent or Consultant, finance specialist and Auditor.

Course Overview

The MS in Accountancy degree course is offered by California State University Northridge. Program Candidates Students currently enrolled in the CSUN undergraduate B.S. in Accountancy program who need to comply with the 150-semester unit requirement for CPA licensure. Students who already have an accounting degree from another university but have not yet taken the CPA exam and need to comply with the 150-semester unit requirement. Other students who have already completed a degree in accounting and wish to earn a master's degree in accountancy and who wish to either work in industry or eventually enroll in a Ph.D. program. Student Learning Outcomes Our MSA graduates can: Analyze and solve problems in business and accounting using strategic planning. Recognize and analyze ethical and professional responsibility issues in business and accounting practices. Communicate their analysis of complex problems in business and accounting clearly and effectively. Research business and accounting literature for both structured and unstructured problems. Apply business and accounting knowledge and skills with a global perspective in their professional fields. Apply IT/IS in business and accounting.

Academic Entry Requirement

You need the following GPA score: Required score: 3 Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale). Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F). For CSUN B.S. in Accountancy Students/Graduates Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Accounting GPA of 3.0 or higher. GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 units. 2. For Students/Graduates from Other Programs/Institutions A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Be in good academic standing with last college or university attended.
